The platform architecture is based on a monitoring system that centralises in one single access point for the Public Authorities all the details of accredited companies, in terms of the Care Services provided by the same.

Given the diverse nature and volume of services/resources covered by the Dependency Law (home helps, residential centres, day and night centres, informal carers and personal assistants), greater monitoring and control of the quality and correct provision of the same is necessary.

This is where PIAControl® comes in. It is a pioneering and innovative technological project at the service of business management of administration services operating within the context of the Dependency Law, and is focussed on comprehensive management and monitoring of the quality of care services provided by private companies and of their relationship with the Public Authorities and with service recipients and their families.

In summary, it is a system that effectively manages and monitors the resources that a Local Authority or a family allocates to deal with a situation of dependency.

The platform architecture is based on a monitoring system that centralises in one single access point for the Public Authorities all the details of accredited companies, in terms of the Care Services provided by the same.

The platform is moreover multi-company, thus allowing management of a group of service providing companies in a centralised and coordinated way by a central provider.

Each one of the companies covered by the system would have their own server that would manage their specific information, sent from mobile devices by their employees. These servers could be sited in their offices, in service centres and even in specialised centres.

The servers, through secure communication channels, share data on services provided, thus allowing for the generation of statistics as well as monitoring data on the services provided by each company, and allowing for the detection in particular of situations where services have not been provided satisfactorily. These monitoring data are presented in an integrated control panel, customised according to the user access profile. This provision of information is aimed at helping Public Authorities that administer the Dependency Law to monitor, control and evaluate the quality of the services supplied by different companies in the sector.

In the same way, other system stakeholders, relatives, companies, assistants, clients etc. can access information relating to the services on offer, thus opening companies up to the Public Authorities concept of freedom of information, known as Open Government Data, and coining a new concept which could be called Open Business Data.

This system has been protected by a patent application and the option of making it available internationally is being evaluated.

PIACONTROL® allows for reliable checking on the effective provision of services covered by the Dependency Law in real time, by means of an electronic signature and GPS positioning, as well as quality control of the same, by means of online quality questionnaires.

Moreover, it allows for a significant reduction in management costs for companies, not only with respect to time and paper, but also its implantation and maintenance represents little significant cost compared to the normal functioning of the company.

It facilitates direct assignment of assistants to different social and health resources in function of their time and geographical availability.

This means reaffirming the value of the professionals who currently work in this sector as well as promoting teleworking.

Finally, it allows real time interaction between the different agents who work within services (Company/Assistants/Public Authorities/Clients) facilitating correct and fluid communication among them. In summary, PIAControl® is a platform which puts the latest web and mobile technologies at the service of society.
